NEW (updated June 12): City Bus in Poitiers

The website for city bus in Poitiers is http://www.vitalis-poitiers.fr . Once in Poitiers, you can get all the schedules at the "Espace BUS VITALIS" (only french spoken), street of the Caudron d'Or, number 6 (near the city Hall). Unfortunately, the website is only in french. We sum up below the important informations.

The global idea is that there are enough city buses to take you anywhere you want during day time: Futuroscope (Hotels Plaza/Clarion, Comfort Alteora, Quality Alteora and Hotel du Parc), conference site, train station, city center/city hall, excepting for the Futuroscope on Sunday, June 25. On Sunday, there are very few buses going to and coming from the Futuroscope, but there will be free transportation to this destination. Consult Useful informations

For the participants who sleep in the campus dorm, there are also a few night buses between the conference site and the city center (line N2A and N2B), see schedules below.

Bus ticket: how does it work, how much does it cost, where can I find it:
You can buy most kinds of bus tickets in the automatic (blue) machine "Billeterie Regionale" within the train station (single ticket, bloc of 5 tickets or weekly ticket). You can also find blocs of 5 bus tickets in about every tobacco store ("bar-tabar-presse" in french), excepting the tobacco store within the train station . In general, only french is spoken in such stores. Every kind of bus ticket (in particular, the daily ticket) can be bought at the Espace Bus VITALIS, Street of the Chaudron d'Or, number 6 (near the city hall).

What are the names of the bus stops ?
In order to ask the bus driver to stop, you should press on the red button "ARRET DEMANDE" about a 100 meters before your bus stop.
At every bus stop, you can find the name of the bus stop, the lines that stop there, and the time at which the buses stop there.
